The easiest way to tell a 2TB micro sd card is not real is because the SDXC spec doesn’t allow for them, the max size for the SDXC spec is 1TB
Fat32 has a size limit for a single file. The error message says " ..too large for the volume format" and not "not enough space" or something similar.
I’m not saying it is a legit 2TB sd card. Your test is just flawed.

I have a chip that I found in the scrap metal in a strange device that doesn’t show how much storage capacity it has, but no matter how much I try to fill it up, it doesn’t fill up.
That error message says that the file size is too large for the volumes **FORMAT**. This likely indicates that you have a partition format of something like Fat32, it’s maybe because the individual files in the 80gb folder exceed the max file size of the file system. The way these usually work is that as data is being written they overwrite old data and update the file allocation table and assign multiple pieces of data to the same data blocks. The newest piece of data replacing and overwriting the old but the old piece of data still corresponds to the newly updated data blocks. The old data is gone and it gives the illusion of higher storage capacity.
that isnt really how you test a flash device’s file size. i also remember getting a 1tb as a gift and it nearly bricked my phone! please beware when testing these products, as they are not only a scam but could be potentially more malicious.

Use h2testw to test SD card storage capacity. More convenient than the method in this video.
six dollars for a 2 TB SD card seems expensive for a scam card.
The error said "because it is too large for the volume’s format" meaning even if it is real 2TB (which is not for sure) it wouldn’t copy because the format of the sd card would not accept large files. For example the FAT32 format would be 4GB file but if the format is NTFS the max file size would be 256TB. So if you want to really see what the real capacity is, format it to NTFS.
Here’s a hack: Buy a fake 2TB sd card, which is cheaper than the regular 40-50 gig sd cards.

I think we first format these to check and after a few formats real size is showing I don’t know for sure though
thats not a good way to test it. did you try to open the files you copied? often times it only saves the last 16 gb and overwrites the stuff already on the chip.

this scam is old. my parents in law fell for that in 2006. buying a 64GB card back in those days.. thing was, they never stated the actual size of the drives anyway, the brandname was just 64GB… i mean, what did they think, if 256mb sticks are around 40 bucks at the time, then you get 64gb for 29 bucks?
